SUMMARY:Thames Chase Guided Walk to Thorndon
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided walk around Thorndon. \nMeet at 10:00am at Thorndon Country Park North off The Avenue\, outside the visitor centre. \nThe walk will follow a cicular route of around 5 miles in distance. We will walk from the North to the South side of the park\, through woodland and meadow with a variety of flora and fauna. We will see some interesting old trees including the Crinoline Lady\, an old oak pollard. The site is also of historical interest\, with a connection to the Petre family who owned the two Thorndon Halls. We will pass the Pigeon Mount\, the site of a dovecote which is the only visible sign of the original Thorndon Hall demolished in 1763. SUMMARY:Rainham Hall to Rainham Marshes – Picnic!
DESCRIPTION:A guided tour around Rainham Hall Gardens\, followed by a walk on Rainham Marshes and picnic. \nJoin us at the National Trust property\, Rainham Hall\, where we will hear about their kitchen gardens\, herb spiral and orchard with some very unusual varieties like a 150 year old Mulberry tree and how jam is made from the fruit. Some are mainly on footpaths\, and others mainly on footpaths where ground may be uneven.  If this walk doesn’t suit you\, there is probably another one that will. \nPlease note:\nYou need to choose walks within your capabilities; the walk leaders are experienced but must take your word that you are sufficiently fit for the grade of walk you have chosen.\nWalk leaders will be at the start of the walk regardless of the weather. In the unlikely event of any unforeseen circumstances\, Kinetika reserve the right to change or cancel a walk and/or performance. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Thames Chase guided walk around Davy Down\, Mardyke Woods and North Stifford. \nThe walk is around 4 miles and should take around 2 – 2.5 hours including a look around the Stifford water pumping station. \nDuring the walk we will see some interesting metal sculptures and hear about some of the extensive work carried out by the Thames Chase Conservation Volunteers. Most of the walk is on flat surfaced paths but the Mardyke Wood section can be uneven and muddy after heavy rain. \nMeet at Davy Down car park off Pilgrims Lane for 10:00 start. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided walk to discover the human and natural history of Dagnam Park (The Manor)\, particularly the bluebells in the woodlands. This walk is ideal for anyone interested in learning more about the environment of the area\, especially the former Dagnam and Gooshays Estates as well as local wildlife. \nMeet at 10:00am in the car park in Central Park\, Petersfield Avenue\, Harold Hill. We will follow a circular route of 2.5km\, starting and finishing at the car park in Central Park.
