Riverfly Monitoring practical training – Eastbrookend Discovery Centre

Please sign up for your ticket to attend RMI training here. Places are limited so please make sure you can sample your river for at least 6 months (1 sample per month) before registering.

The Land of the Faans and Thames21 coordinate a Riverfly Monitoring Initiative (RMI) on the Rivers Beam and Ingrebourne and are looking for more volunteers. The RMI is a national scheme for monitoring the health of rivers, developed by the Riverfly Partnership. It gives trained volunteers the tools to detect and report pollution events, builds essential long-term datasets on the health of rivers and links volunteers with other organisations working to improve our rivers.

RMI sampling uses the presence and abundance of invertebrates in a sample to gauge the health of your river. Free training in the sampling method will be provided by the Zoological Society of London.

YOU CAN ONLY ATTEND THIS SESSION IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE ONLINE THEORY SESSION AND PASSED A TEST (click here to sign up for the theory session)
