C3.2 Apprentice Scheme

Project Status: In Progress

Delivery Partners/Stakeholders: Forestry England

The Scheme will employ 2 apprentices during the life of the Landscape Partnership Scheme, each for a two-year period starting in Year 2 of the Scheme. The Forestry Commission will employ these apprentices as employees and host them under the FC national Apprenticeship Scheme.

The apprentices will receive formal and vocational training across a range of tasks, including environmental conservation, habitat creation, conservation of built heritage, horticulture, practical woodland management, and education support. It is envisaged that their practical work will be centred on the Forestry Commissions’ landholding within Thames Chase Community Forest and where operationally feasible will be linked to projects within the overall Land of the Fanns scheme as a means of supplementing their training and meeting individual project aims.
